Phyllida Law

In this enormously entertaining archive edition of Stark Talk, recorded in 2013, Edi meets the wonderfully engaging Phyllida Law, whose career as a TV, Film and theatre actress expanded when she began writing, to great acclaim, in her late seventies. Notes to my mother-in-law and How Many Camels are there in Holland, are beautifully observed, highly amusing memoirs of her mother Meg and mother in law Maisie. Phyllida was born in Glasgow in 1932, was evacuated at 7 and became an actress after going to ‘dough school’. She was happily married to Eric Thompson who narrated and adapted The Magic Roundabout for TV. He was 53 when he died. Their daughters are actors Sophie and Emma Thompson.
