Jak's Apple Pie
INGREDIENTS
· 2 large cooking apples
· 2 discovery/pink lady sweet eating apples
· 2 mac reds
· Pinch of ground cloves/ cinnamon/nutmeg
Hot butter Pastry
· 175 gr plain flour
· 125 gr butter
· 50 gr sugar
METHOD
1. Peel core and slice all apples.
2. Toss together with spices allow to sit on paper towel whilst you make the pastry.
3. Melt butter and sugar until hot and sugar dissolved.
4. Gradually add flour until stiff dough roll out as required for pie dish.
5. Fill case with mixed apples roll out pastry lid brush with butter and sprinkle with sugar.
6. Bake in oven 160c Gas 4 until pastry crisp on top 25-35 mins.
7. Serve with large dollop of cream/custard/ice cream or maybe all 3!
