Live coverage of the men's and women's senior races at the annual European Cross Country Championships, held on the banks of the Danube just north of Budapest.

The Great Britain and Northern Ireland team is vying to end a fabulous year for British athletics by topping the medal table at this event for the fifth successive year. The team's six gold medals in 2011 included individual gold for Emelia Gorecka in the junior women's race and Emma Pallant at under-23 level.

There were surprise individual winners in the two main races in 2011: Atelaw Bekele took Belgium's first-ever victory in the men's senior race, while Fionnuala Britton clinched Ireland's only second senior women's gold medal.
