Reaction to the resignation of the director general of the BBC George Entwistle who's stepped down after 55 days in job.

He said it was 'the honourable thing to do' after intense criticism of a Newsnight report which wrongly implicated Conservative peer Lord McAlpine in child abuse allegations.
