Upland Birds, Pledge-to-Fledge and the invasion of the Sea Squirts
A drastic decline in upland birds has prompted the Farmers Union of Wales to canvas the opinions of people attending the Flint and Denbigh Show next week. If the trend continues iconic species such as Curlew, Golden Plover, Chough, Peregrine and Ring Ouzel, could, according to research by ornithologists, lead to some species becoming extinct.

The Silver Studded Blue is a small butterfly that lives in heathland and is a bit of a rarity in Wales. At one of their few and isolated colonies in the middle of Snowdonia there has been concern that the severe bad weather we've been experiencing could further their decline.
