This is the eleventh time the famous championship has been held at Royal Lytham & St Annes. Remarkably, Tony Jacklin is the only British player to have won here when he lifted the Claret Jug back in 1969. With a host of British players currently at the top of the world rankings, that is a record they will be confident of changing.
