Joan Armatrading is a Grammy and Brit nominated British musician - winner of an Ivor Novello Fellowship Award.

She's recorded many classic and memorable songs including:

Joan talks to Tom Morton about her love of song writing, how her mother swapped two old prams to buy her first guitar and how she feels her greatest achievement is gaining an Open University Degree.
