Katie Derham continues her week of programmes featuring the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
The programme begins with a live concert from the orchestra's home, BBC Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff, introduced by Elin Manahan Thomas. Associate Guest Conductor Francois-Xavier Roth conducts Stravinsky's Symphonies of Wind Instruments and welcomes Radio 3 New Generation Artist Benjamin Grosvenor in Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto.
In a recent performance from Swansea, Estonian Olari Elts conducts Stravinsky's Symphony in Three Movements. Plus a snippet from the orchestra's new recording of British film music: Arthur Benjamin's The Conequest of Everest
