Jean does her utmost to ensure that Heather's tribute night goes smoothly, but the evening takes a disastrous turn after the arrival of an unwelcome guest.

Patrick reads Denise his speech for Heather’s wedding. Realising Dot doubts him, Andrew won’t stay in her house. Rose leaves with him. Jean’s moved by Andrew’s grief. Jean organises a tribute event for Heather, Dot refuses to be guest of honour. Patrick accompanies Dot to the launderette and reveals he’s going to stay with Anthony. At Heather’s shrine, someone knocks over Rose and Andrew’s bags. Rose defends Andrew, he insists she should leave him alone. With Shirley still determined to keep George, Phil instructs Tamwar to tell Darren to come and get his son. Phil won’t tell Andrew where George is. Jean decorates the Vic, Michael thwarts Alfie’s attempt to stop the tribute karaoke. Ben receives a letter from Ritchie about a psychiatric interview, Jay shows Phil who rips it up. Dot attends the tribute event. Shirley arrives when the karaoke’s in full swing. Horrified, she accuses everyone of laughing at Heather. Shirley calls Andrew a murderer, he’s furious and ignores Jack’s suggestion he disappear. Later, Phil and Jay are horrified when Ben tells Shirley Heather mattered to him.
At the Vic, Mandy defends Ian when Shirley takes issue with his ‘choose life’ t-shirt. She’s astonished when Ian blames her for the confrontation. Ian reveals his doubts, accusing Mandy of planning to rip him off. Mandy leaves and Alfie admonishes Ian. Returning home, Ian leaves Mandy an apologetic voicemail. Finding her engagement ring, he realises he might have lost her.
Fat Boy and Tamwar perform a birthday rap for Lauren’s 18th. Lucy persuades Lauren to skip her family party and stay in the Vic. Cora eventually drags a drunken Lauren home where she promptly throws up.
Attempting to kill a rat, Anthony cuts off the Emporium and boxing gym’s power. He fixes the Emporium electrics and he and Tyler feign ignorance to an irritated Jack.
