Health Minister Edwin Poots faces MLAs today over pseudomonas hospital infections. Its revealed that the Public Health Agency is not collating vital information on pseudomonas cases in the NHS here
In the past few weeks four babies died here in our hospitals - they died from complications caused by an outbreak of pseudonomas - an infection which can be quite common but is particularly life threatening for those who are already seriously ill. Since the babies died, the health authorities have put stringent checking mechanisms into all intensive care units housing seriously ill babies.
