DCI Marion Bettany and DS John Hodgson investigate a murder in the sleepy Northumbrian village of Shilwick.

They love their work, they enjoy each other's company and like nothing better than investigating a new crime.

The only thing that makes life difficult is dealing with the public. Take the residents of the former mining community of Shilwick, for example.

Detective team created for BBC Radio by award-winning author Val McDermid, creator of TV's Wire in the Blood.

Village SOS is a fictional version of the BBC ONE series of the same name.
