Dermot welcomes Polock, a new five-piece from Valencia in Spain. Their music has drawn comparisons with The Strokes and Friendly Fires.
This week's show has a Spanish flavour, as Dermot welcomes a new band from Valencia. Polock are five young men whose music has been compared to The Strokes, "had their blend of garage rock story-telling been written under the Spanish sun and a giant disco ball, laced with sparkling Friendly Fires-esque electronica."
Polock's debut album, Getting Down from the Trees, was released in April. They've just completed a short US tour in support of this album, which included three South by Southwest showcases, and they're playing a few European gigs this month.
