An American charity has told 5 live Breakfast it's started paying more than 20 women addicted to drugs to be fitted with long term contraception.
The charity, Project Prevention, says it stops unwanted children.
Professor Neil McKeganey from the Centre for Drugs Misuse Research at Glasgow University says it's simple: addicts can't be trusted with children. Is that always the case? Are addicts incapable of caring for their children?
