The Story of Raging Bull

Following the recent death of Jake LaMotta, Mike Costello and Mark Chapman celebrate Raging Bull, Martin Scorsese's 1980 film masterpiece based on LaMotta's memoir.

In December 1980, arguably the greatest sports film of all time was released. Following the recent death of Jake LaMotta, the uncompromising fighter portrayed by Robert De Niro in Raging Bull, 5 live Sport celebrates Martin Scorsese's masterpiece.

First broadcast in 2010, Scorsese tells the story behind the making of the film, while 'The Bronx Bull' Jake La Motta reminisces with Mike Costello. Mark Chapman also speaks to Robert De Niro whose portrayal of La Motta won him an Oscar.
