We asked the members of the Shadow Monetary Policy Committee whether the VAT rise should be permanent, and analyse the results.
On the programme this morning, the members of the Shadow Monetary Policy Committee are divided in their views of whether the VAT rise should be permanent or not. We look at the results of our survey, and the impact of the rise on small businesses and consumers. Also, Have ASBOs worked where you live ? They were brought in in 1999 and have been imposed sixteen thousand, nine hundred, and ninety nine times. But there have been questions about whether they really make communities safer.
