Do prisoners deserve the vote?

The government's planning to give thousands of inmates the right to vote. It's thought David Cameron's reluctantly agreed to the move after being told that failure to comply with a European court ruling could cost hundreds of millions of pounds in compensation. Campaigners say it's a basic human right and is a crucial part of the rehabilitation process - but many people strongly disagree.
