Poole, Dorset

Jodie Kidd goes on a journey through Dorset, starting with an RNLI training exercise in Swanage. While at sea, they receive a real alert.

Then, after meeting Springwatch's Simon King, Jodie hitches a lift in a convoy of classic VW campervans towards the ghost village of Tyneham, which was requisitioned by the MOD in 1943. Following the war, against all expectations, the army placed a compulsory purchase order on the land, and so for the villagers, exile from their homes became permanent. Finally, Jodie meets Doug Churchill, one of the village's former residents.
