BBC PROMS 2010

Live from the Royal Albert Hall, London

Presented by Suzy Klein

Vladimir Ashkenazy and the visiting Sydney Symphony perform Richard Strauss's lushly romantic waltzes which conjure up eighteenth-century Vienna, and Scriabin's multi-coloured Third Symphony which portrays the cosmic dance between the human spirit and the cosmos. French-born pianist Hélène Grimaud joins them for Ravel's Piano Concerto in G, which dances to the rhythms of the Jazz Age.
