There's great excitement at Riley Towers as we've punk rock pioneers The Standells in session.

Great excitement in Riley Towers we've the legendary Standells in session this evening.

The Standells are considered by many as the godfathers of punk rock. They were formed in 1962 by guitarist Tony Valentino and keyboardist Larry Tamblyn. After the addition of bassist Gary Lane and vocalist & drummer Dick Dodd, The Standells' had their first hit single with "Dirty Water".

They are in the UK for a very brief time but are coming to Manchester for a special trip for their 6 Music session.
