2. The Hunter

Episode 2 of 4

As Marcus heads north with Esca, clues appear to the missing Eagle's whereabouts. But can they trust Guern? Stars Tom Smith.

Just beyond Hadrian's Wall, Marcus and Esca reach the ruined fort of the Twentieth Legion, where they make camp for the night.

In the morning, they are woken by a tribal hunter, heading home with his kill. The hunter, Guern, recognises 'Demetrius' and the three men share food.

But when Guern invites Marcus to see his home, Esca is wary.

Marcus, too, has his suspicions as the hunter bears the mark of many years of wearing a chin-strap from a Roman helmet.
