Larry McDonald - Former Vice President, Lehman Brothers
Stephen Sackur reflects on the events that led to the collapse of Lehman Brothers. Larry McDonald worked on Lehman's trading floor and has written a book based on his experiences.
As the BBC World News Aftershock season begins, Stephen Sackur reflects on the events that led to the collapse of Lehman Brothers. For decades Lehman Brothers enjoyed a privileged position as Wall Street's fourth largest investment bank. Then in September 2008 the bank filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Larry McDonald worked for several years on the Lehman's trading floor and has now written a book based on his experiences. He tells Stephen Sackur about the culture of greed and mismanagement that he believes led the US government to deny the bank a bailout.
