From the Royal Albert Hall, London. Presented by Petroc Trelawny.
The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra's second Prom of the 2009 season concludes with a performance of Shostakovich's Tenth, one of the composer's most popular symphonies, and a favourite of conductor Mariss Jansons. The work intertwines the composer's personal motto theme with that of a student with whom he was infatuated.
