Jim takes a big romp around the veg plot, looking at the beautiful brassicas, blooming beans and perfect peas. He then takes the fruit house to task, fixes the figs, pinches the peaches and challenges the cherries.

Jim also plants out a new range of plants in a very exposed border, plants that have been awarded a special Scottish Award of Garden Merit; Jim gives them the Beechgrove test.

Carole is also testing as she picks up the story of her trials on her sweet williams, impatiens and rocket, and finds that there is nothing worse than rust on your hollyhocks.

Carole is also back with her Baxter's Absolute Beginners, the Stewart family in Kingswells, to see how they have fared without her for the past six weeks. Some successes, some failures, and the results of their tattie challenge...
