As part of a series of letters remembering the iconic summer of 1969, American writer Michael Goldfarb recalls the music festival Woodstock.

Michael was still a boy in America as July 1969 approached, but he can just still remember the crucial happenings that stole world headlines that summer. As a tumultuous decade was coming to close, some of its most famous and infamous events were yet to take place: the moon landing, the Manson Family Murder, The Woodstock Music Festival and the release of the innovative film Medium Cool about the Democratic National Convention.
