It has always been a tradition at the All England Club for the defending men's champion to open proceedings on Centre Court - weather permitting. But after world number one and current champion Rafael Nadal withdrew through injury, and with the world's most famous tennis arena boasting a new roof, five-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer will start his assault on the title there at 1.00pm, come rain or shine.
