Sean Rafferty presents a special programme from the BBC's Maida Vale Studios - the home of the BBC Symphony Orchestra - introducing a programme of London-themed music to celebrate BBC Proms 2009's Out + About events.
The orchestra is joined by BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist trumpeter Giuliano Sommerhalder, as John Wilson conducts music by Holst, Walton, Handel, John Ireland - as well as the first-ever commission and world premiere for In Tune - a new piece by composer Richard Rodney Bennett. And jazz pianist and vocalist Ian Shaw is joined by Mari Wilson to perform songs inspired by London.
