Connie wants Ric to give up his job as director of surgery. He tells her that he has resigned, but lies to Connie and says that he has to serve three months' notice. Ric refuses to treat an obese man as part of his Zero Tolerance policy.

Annalese comes to work with Michael, but she is clearly very suspicious of him and Donna, and starts looking through his belongings. She discovers that they have been planning a surprise.

Daisha wants to go out for birthday drinks and Mark, although disappointed, says he will babysit, but Rachel offers instead. Mark's patient thinks that he fancies Daisha and, although he denies it, he gives her an expensive bracelet for her birthday.
