In conversation with the pianist Graham Johnson and broadcaster Richard Osborne, Richard assesses the extent to which producer Legge acted as a musical Svengali to his singer wife, deciding her repertoire choices and directing her interpretations of operatic roles. He also asks if Schwarzkopf was really as subservient to her husband as has been rumoured.
