Some of the world's finest distance runners gather in Scotland for the Great Edinburgh International Cross Country. In 2008 this course played host to the World Championships and the bronze medallist from that race, Zersenay Tadese, returns to the Scottish capital.

Also in action is Britian's Steph Twell. In her first major race since leaving the junior ranks, Twell will race against the 2007 World Junior Champion, Linet Masai, and the silver medallists from the past two World Cross Country championships, Vivian Cheruiyot and Mestewat Tufa.
