Inspired by Polish-American Holocaust survivor Leopold "Poldek" Pfefferberg, Thomas Keneally sets out to meet other Schindlerjuden - Jews saved by Oskar Schindler – both Australian and American.

His findings became the basis for the Booker Prize-winning novel Schindler's Ark and the Oscar-winning film Schindler's List.
