Do you welcome the launch of BBC Alba?

Graham Stewart takes your calls on the launch of the new Gaelic TV channel, BBC Alba, and asks whether it's long overdue, or just a waste of money on what is a minority language?

The new Gaelic television channel, BBC Alba, starts its first full week of programmes tonight, but it will only be available on satellite until at least 2010. Do you welcome the fact that Gaelic now has a degree of broadcast parity with its Irish and Welsh equivalents, or is funding minority languages a waste of public money? Is a television channel the best way to preserve the language?

Graham Stewart takes your calls, texts and emails.
