Claire Martin talks to saxophonist Tom Richards, whose 23-piece orchestra has just released its debut album Smoke and Mirrors, for which he has written all but one of the tracks. The TRO is comprised of some of London's most sought-after young musicians including Gareth Lockrane (flutes), conductor Jules Buckley and BBC Jazz Awards winners Gwilym Simcock (piano) and Jim Hart (vibes).
