Professor Lloyd gets in with the locals.

Lilian wonders to Jennifer what she can do about her straying man. Jennifer advises her to size up the opposition by going along to a 'do' they're both at. Inspired, Lilian says she'll flick through Matt's diary as she's got a feeling that there's something coming up. Then she'll surprise them by turning up unexpectedly.

Shula chats to Alan about the bad effect Jim's having on Daniel; he's trying to turn him into an atheist.

Things are frosty when Joe turns up at the Stables to get orders for the Christmas turkeys, until Joe comments to Jim that there's always been a bad history between the Archers and the Grundys. Intrigued Jim says Joe must come in and tell him all about it. Over copious whisky they mull things over - Jim commenting that Daniel's the one bright spark in a very dull household. When Shula return she's taken aback to discover Jim's taken it upon himself to order a turkey, even though she's already ordered a goose.

When Joe goes Shula snaps at Jim that he didn't have to make Joe quite so welcome. Anyway she's found some interesting company for Jim - Alan's coming round tomorrow and she's sure they'll have lots to talk about!
