Kristine Opolais (soprano) and the BBC Philharmonic conducted by Andris Nelsons perform works for the ballet and opera stage by Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky.
The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra performs works by Russian composers for the ballet and opera stage in a concert given at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall.
The music of Prokofiev's Scythian Suite was extracted from ballet music composed for Diaghilev's Ballets Russes as was Stravinsky's more famous Rite of Spring.
