Kenton tells Kathy that he's booked them a holiday. It's a fait accompli; he's fixed everything so there's nothing for her to worry about. Kathy thinks he's joking at first - but he's not. They are off to do some Christmas shopping - in Vienna! He shows her the website with the Christmas markets, and Kathy is really thrilled. She can't wait to be away from everything, and it all looks so lovely on the web.

Fraught Alistair arrives home from Scotland with his father. Professor Jim is extremely crotchety and rude on arrival, finding fault with everything they do and trying Shula's patience straight away. Alistair had promised her his dad would be on his best behaviour! He's going to drive her mad!
