Emma learns that three's a crowd.

Lynda enthuses to withdrawn Kathy about last night's gospel concert, which Borsetshire Life asked her to review at short notice. Kathy gets nervous at the mention of Christmas shows and hurries off, leaving Lynda feeling concerned. Later at Lower Loxley Kathy is on poor form as Hayley chats away.

Lynda tells Roy she was so charged up by last night's performance she couldn't sleep, so she wrote her article in the middle of the night. But by the end of the day she has faded badly. Mike, preparing the bonfire on the green, kindly offers her a lift home.

Emma bumps into Fallon at the Three Tuns while she's waiting for Hayley to turn up. Fallon's performing there with Little White Lies. Emma's brave-faced when Ed waltzes past carrying some of Fallon's equipment.

Hayley encourages Mike to get in touch with some of the women who replied to his ad. But Mike doesn't fancy it and anyway, he's got his friend Alison at his dance class. As Hayley's getting ready to go out, Emma rings saying she's feeling a bit tired and has decided to go home.
