Ruth and David get some inside information.

Nervous Mike gets ready for his dance class. Roy doesn't help by telling him that he's overdone the aftershave. Mike is close to not going at all, but they manage to get him out of the door. Roy and Hayley take full advantage of his absence. When he returns, he's obviously had a good time - the name of a nice woman called Alison crops up more than once.

David says he won't be sitting up to get a suspected fox. Ruth suggests they invite Ruairi over some time to play with Ben and is pleased when David says they should go ahead with crossing the herd with Brown Swiss. Ruth says Alistair handled the yew poisoning really well. There is an awkward moment as Ruth bravely mentions Sam's name - they would never have changed vets for the dairy herd if he hadn't suggested it. They agree to ask Alistair to come back.

Robert tells David he's seen a cottage near Penny Hassett which is being renovated - and a yew hedge has been removed from the side. Suspicious that it might the source of the yew that poisoned their cattle, David says he'll go and take a look first thing tomorrow.
