Ambridge greets its newest resident.

Out on Spearmint, Alice chats happily to David until she realises David knows about Ruairi. David senses he's put his foot in it. What with this and his bad head from yesterday's celebrations, Ruth's cheerful chatter about Gray is hard to take. Ruth's enthusiasm about this 'great guy' brings back painful memories for David. Oliver does share Ruth's enthusiasm, though, and they agree the Royal Show will be a great place to start getting the message out. David's even more concerned when he learns that Ruth's planning to go leafleting with Gray at farmers' markets.

Landing in Birmingham, Ruairi hopes he's going to see his mammy. Brian tries to explain that he's on his way to his new home. Ruairi's arrival at Home Farm is eased by the presence of sheepdog Fly, as Ruairi takes an instant liking to him. Jennifer touchingly explains that she's going to be his new mummy. Alice turns up, but is unable to control her emotions and runs off in tears. Brian explains that Alice isn't feeling well, but it's heart-wrenching when Ruairi asks if she's sick like mammy. Brian explains that Alice will feel better soon and turns to Jenny for reassurance of this.
