Debbie comes round to see Adam, who explains why he hadn't warned her about Brian and Ruairi. He didn't want to make a wedge between himself and Debbie. Knowing how hurt Debbie was when she found out about Siobhan, he didn't want to wreck her newly repaired relationship with Brian unnecessarily. Debbie understands and is touched by Adam's concern, and his promises to be there for Alice.

Jennifer is trying to decide how to decorate Ruairi's bedroom, whilst still worrying about Alice's attitude. Lilian tells her she must trust Alice and give her time. Ruairi's bedroom should be similar to his room in Germany and she'll get Matt's contract people in to do a quick job.

Lilian makes another secret assignation with Mike for a dance lesson on Thursday afternoon. Matt brings Lilian roses, in order to keep her sweet when he tells he plans to take Brenda on for the summer as a sort of apprentice. He's surprised when Lilian agrees without too much fuss. He's going to have a chat with Brenda on Thursday afternoon. Lilian swears Matt to secrecy about Ruairi. The family will have to cope with enough gossip when the child arrives.
