Elizabeth says her last goodbyes.

As gossip gets round the village, Clarrie tells Eddie about Siobhan's illness. They speculate on who Ruairi's father could be. Ruth is still surreptitiously checking up on Eddie's milking techniques; he doesn't mind her giving him a hand, as long as she still pays him.

Fallon enjoys helping Ed with the afternoon milking; anything to get away from the Bull and Sid's conversations about cricket and the forthcoming cup match against Netherbourne. On hearing about their 'date' the Grundys assume that Ed and Fallon are now an item but Ed assures them all that they are just mates. Joe and Eddie are disbelieving but Clarrie says they should just leave them to sort themselves out.

Elizabeth is with Siobhan in Dublin but Siobhan's very sleepy. Brian and Elizabeth take Ruairi out and while sitting in the park Brian is able to unload to her. However, he's horrified when Ruairi falls, hurts his knee and bursts into tears. He wonders what on earth he's going to do in future when Ruairi asks for his mother. Later, Ruairi and Brian put some flowers on Siobhan's bedside table and wish her sweet dreams.
