Irene is livid when she hears about Vera's planned MI6 assignment with her son. Stars Patricia Routledge and Prunella Scales.

Irene’s kept on the move by her island-hopping employees so can’t prevent Lesley sending Christopher, Irene's treasured only son, out to Moscow to bring back Vera.

When Vera explains that she and Christopher are to go on a dangerous mission for MI6, Irene takes the desperate steps of appealing to Nellie Thoroughgood, Chris's adoptive mother, for help
