The wild and tormented Francis Herries begins a new life in Cumberland. 18th-century family saga with Gavin Muir.

In 1730, Francis Herries is drawn by a wild romantic impulse.

He moves his family to a tumbledown ancestral house called 'Herries', ringed by the Cumberland Fells.
