1. Cruelty

Episode 1 of 3

Young sweep Tom's cruel master forces him up Hartover Hall's chimneys. Stars Philip Jackson, Julia McKenzie and Timothy West.

Tom is forced by his cruel master, Grimes, up the chimneys of Hartover Hall.

In the chase that follows, Tom is rescued by the Fairies and taken to be a Water Baby under the waves.

Published in 1863, Charles Kingsley’s novel dramatised in three parts by Berlie Doherty.
