Jennifer learns the art of compromise.

Ed and Fallon are amused when Lynda jogs past with her llama Wolfgang, in training for the sponsored cricket run. Later Ed and Fallon enjoy themselves at a Borchester bar, remarking that it's great going out with someone you're not interested in. They toast being free and single, then head off for a curry, agreeing to do this more often.

Lynda thanks Jill for her advice about B&Bs and tells her that they've decided to go ahead with it. Ruth despairs to Jill about the cow costumes for the race so Jill advises making something much simpler.

Brian's astonished by Jennifer's unexpected visit to his Dublin hotel but she warns him not to draw any conclusions. They take Ruairi to the zoo where Jennifer feels the strain and tells Brian it's one of the hardest things she's ever done. Brian's very appreciative - it means so much to him. Later Jennifer's pleased when Brian says he'll fly home with her; he's stayed too long already. He tentatively asks Jennifer what she thinks of Ruairi. She replies that he seems a sweet little boy and it's awful for any child to lose his mother - so they'll just have to hope it never happens.
