Chef/restauranteur John Torode and vegetable guru Gregg Wallace look for the country's next star chef. The six contestants must invent a dish from scratch in 40 minutes, using only the ingredients they have been given. Three winners must then cook at The Great Eastern Hotel and afterwards create a two-course meal for the judges. Only one will get through to the quarter-final stages.
