Gorton Monastery

Gorton Monastery is a gothic masterpiece, known as Manchester's Taj Mahal after it was placed on a list of the world's 100 most endangered sites. It fell into disrepair at the end of the 1980s, but one couple were determined to save it and began a ten-year battle to raise six million pounds.
