Crime drama series. Following the murder of his wife, top policeman Adrian Monk suffered a breakdown and developed an obsessive-compulsive disorder. Now working as a private consultant, Monk's unusual skills help him solve mysteries in unconventional ways.

Monk is called in when a mayoral candidate looks like he has been targeted by a sniper. His unorthodox methods irritate those in command but Monk seems able to make connections and observations that others miss.
