Nigel tests Lizzie's principles.

Elizabeth is pleased to announce that the builders have finally arrived to repair the shop. Nigel tells Elizabeth he has a new idea he wants to run past her - developing Lower Loxley as a 'green' wedding venue. Elizabeth is reluctant to encourage him in this plan - she thinks it very worthy, but is not at all sure it will make them any money.

Brenda helps Tom with the pigs, then they go back to the cottage to do some decorating. Tom thinks Brenda ought to get on with her college project, but she's keen to get the cottage as they want it.

Brian is still exploring all the options for the farm, including encouraging Debbie to find out about available contractors. Jennifer puts Adam's point of view - that they could continue to work the arable and expand the other enterprises. Adam pitches his expansion ideas to Brian, and learns for the first time that Brian and Jennifer are thinking of buying some property abroad. Adam thinks Brian has already made up his mind. He goes down to Tom and Brenda's and gives them a hand with the painting. He's had enough of Home Farm for the moment.
