Joe puts temptation in Lilian's path.

Brian's worried that he's still not heard from Siobhan. Jennifer misreads his concern for preoccupation with Adam and the arable. She's firmly on Adam's side in this and isn't convinced that contracting out would be beneficial for him. She's still not happy that things seem so unsettled.

Later Brian shows her some holiday homes for sale. They're not in South Africa but he has more of a 'short hop' place in mind - Jennifer's surprised at first, but concedes that perhaps it will mean that the family can come to visit them.

Meanwhile Joe lures Lilian to Keeper's Cottage on the pretext of enlisting her help in diagnosing an ailing Bartleby. Unsurprisingly they find that the pony appears to have made a remarkable recovery and Joe invites unsuspecting Lilian inside for a cup of tea by way of thanks. He proceeds to wax lyrical about her value in the community and they reminisce contentedly. He slyly pulls a bottle of whisky from the cupboard and adds some to his tea. Sorely tempted, Lilian realises what he's up to in the nick of time and resists, giving him full marks for effort.
