Horizons Sessions 2026

Horizons present a collection of special sessions recorded, filmed at BBC Cymru Wales, for Huw Stephen’s show on BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru. Horizons invited six Launchpad Awardees to record three tracks: two original, and one special feature.

SAGE TODZ AND THE PROBLEM SOLVERS

With features in The Times, Channel 4, ITV and over 500,00 streams on Spotify, north Walian rapper and R&B musician, Sage Todz, has been taking the music scene by storm. His most recent album, Stopia Cwyno was short listed for the Welsh Music Prize in 2025. In these sessions, he’s joined by his live band ‘The Problem Solvers’.

MWSOG - Llef Hir

Horizons/Gorwelion Session

MWSOG

Fusing acid folk and ritualistic rock & roll - transforming each performance into an arcane ceremony, Wild Welsh Wanderers: MWSOG, are igniting a new revolution in Welsh Folk. Their live shows unfold as wild, communal ceremonies, drawing sol-out crowds and festival acclaim across Wales, and they bring this energy to the session.

TAI HAF HEB DRIGOLYN

From a packed out set at Sŵn Festival, to their debut album Ein Albwm Cyntaf Ni being nominated for the Welsh Music Prize, the alternative lo-fi group; Tai Haf Heb Drigolyn, have been making waves in the Welsh music scene. In this incredible session, with the use of a Tascam 464, the band create a unique sound with discrepant textures.

MORN

Morn are a post-punk band from the Welsh boarders, characterised by raw, emotional vocals and screeching guitar riffs, and we’ve captured their electric energy in this session. Their debut track, Modern Man, has been featured on the official EA FC ’26 Soundtrack, as well as being awarded the Triskel Award at the Welsh Music Prize in 2025.

PAPAYA NOON

Seamlessly blending jazz-infused soul with intimate female vocals, Papaya Noon create a sound that is filled with 90’s nostalgia. Their adoration for jazz, R&B, hip hop and soul has resonated with Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliot, Queen Latifa, Fatman Scoop, as well as over 55,000 followers online. Their identity is brought to life with a live five piece band, as showcased in this chilled-out session.

WATERPISTOL

Since Forming in 2022, Waterpistol have been making a name for themselves across the Welsh music scene, performing across multiple festivals; Green Man, Sŵn, Nozstock, FOCUS Wales and In It Together. Their sound mixes the rebellious spirit of 60’s rock with hazy 90’s shoegaze.
